Craigslist idiot

We posted a TI-84 calculator online to craigslist.org. And to much of my excitement we heard from somebody within a few hours. However, when I opened the email I was disappointed... This lady asked if we would take $30 LESS THAN the price we were asking for. UM.... HELLO? Like seriously? Now we have done our fair share of buying and selling online and HONESTLY WE HAVE NEVER EVER LOW balled somebody. We have ALWAYS given them the price they asked for. And every time I list something online people ALWAYS low ball you. I hate the saying, "well I only have $40 to spend". Well, then you aren't in the market for this item.
So I email this lady back and say sorry we will not accept that price. I go on with my day and its nap time. Hinckley and I are sleeping out cold in my bed and the home phone rings (mind you my parents and Troys parents and a few friends are the ONLY ones who have this number). I pick up really fast so Hinckley doesn't wake up and I hang up. Then the phone rings again (same thing pick up hang up), THEN THE STUPID LADY CALLS ME AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And I noticed it said City of Idaho Falls on it and I panicked and thought maybe Troy had been an accident or something. So by this time Hinckley is up, I am half out of it but PISST. And the lady is like, "Hello is this Bethany Carter?" I am like yes this is she. And she says, "well you and I have been corresponding through email, and I just looked up your number". LOOKED UP MY NUMBER? ARE YOU SOME PYSCHO? How the heck did this lady know who I was? I used the craigslist "secret code" email and everything. Even when I emailed her I didn't use my name at all. Then she asks how low are you willing to go? See because my son is in school and he has a wife and a kid... I SHOULD HAVE SAID WELL YOU KNOW WHAT LADY? MY HUSBAND IS IN SCHOOL AND HE HAS A WIFE A KID AND A BABY DUE IN 4 weeks! So you wanna play that card BRING IT THE FREAK ON! I told her I had to talk to my husband and I would get back to her. Then she is like well I am leaving work soon so here is my cell number.
I haven't responded to her because I AM STILL PISST she called me at home. I actually FULL on expected her to show up at my door. I told Troy I was going to carry the gun around with me in the house because I don't know this lady. We live in Idaho but we have CRAZYS who live in IDAHO TOO.
Plus we've had many other emails. But how the heck did she find out who I was? Thats what the freaky thing is.

ROTC

Let me give you an update on our life! On Thursday we found out some really important news for our future. We were planning on Troy joining the ROTC and going active duty as an officer. HOWEVER, the Colonel came into to town and met with Troy and they talked about his situation. The situation is that Troy has been "on the records of the ROTC" for over and year but has not contracted because he can not pass his height and weight. According to the army Troy should be at 212 pounds... HAHAHA! Fat chance... So they do a measurement of his neck and waist and it is according to your body fat percentage. He has to be at 22%. He has been really close like 24, 26 and a couple of weeks ago 23%. ANYWAY... the Colonel found out he had been on the records for over and year and told him there was no way he could do the ROTC. He had already taken 2 important classes and because of that he can't re do them. Its sounds complicated but bottom line we need a new plan!

So there are A LOT of exciting paths we could take. But first and foremost is that TROY GRADUATES IN APRIL!!!!!!!!!!!!!! INSTEAD of next December.... YAHOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We are looking into options but are most VERY excited that we will be done with school in 6 1/2 months instead of 15 months YAHOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 201 days til graduation!!!!!!!!!!!

9/11/2001

I feel like I have A TON to blog about (the rotc, Kathy, the baby, and more!) However, since 9/11/2009 I have been wanting to write my thoughts down about 9/11/2001.

I was a senior in High School and we had just started school maybe a week or so before. I LOVED MY SENIOR YEAR. I went in late (2nd period and left after 3rd period). Yes I only had 2 classes it was WONDERFUL! I would go home for about an hour and then go to work at a day care for 5 hours everyday. I LOVED LOVED LOVED my JOB! It worked perfect.

Flash back to 9/11/01... I had gone to my first class (Current Events) and was in my 2nd class English. We were in the library that day and my friend Justin and I were joking around and playing on the computers. The internet system kept going down and towards the end of class our teacher kept going in the back room and she was crying. We were all like what the heck? She announced that something terrible had happened to our country...

I walked out to my car and turned on the radio. I couldn't BELIEVE my ears. I 2nd tower had been hit and was about to go down. I had to go to the police station that day to get my fingerprints done for work. I sat in the car and cried as the radio announcer said, "THE TOWER JUST FELL, I CANT BELIEVE MY EYES!" Then news of the pentagon, and Pennyslvania came in. How could this be? What? This must be some type of movie trailer....

I walked in the police station and it was humming. Though we lived an hour and half away from DC many police officers were headed up north to help. I got my fingerprints done and headed home to eat. As I was driving my thoughts turned to my family. Sometimes my dad went to the Pentagon for work.... Where was my mom? Is she safe? What about the hundreds of members of our stake who work in DC? So I pulled out the cell phone that I was ONLY to use for car emergencies. I couldn't get a hold of my mom.... Couldn't get a hold of my dad.... What about my sister? My brothers? Where are they going to hit us next? It wasn't until about an hour later that I got a hold of both my mom and dad. THEY WERE SAFE!

As I drove into the day care I thought... Oh my gosh these poor babies have no clue what just happened... Some of these kids parents work at the Pentagon.... What if they dont return? What do we do? The day was long. It was SAD! After I came home I was just GLUED TO THE TV. I couldn't get my eyes of the news.

That single day in history FOREVER CHANGED my life. I still think about it.

The horrible Eastern Idaho State Fair

I think this is the 3rd year I have been to the Blackfoot fair and this was the first time we were SO disappointed. We got there about 6ish which was a bad idea because the people who go to the fair at this time are very interesting characters! We got our taste of filthily, dirty, pot smoking, beer drinking kind of people last night.

The rides were SO OUTRAGEOUSLY priced and there were no rides Hinckley could ride by himself so you had to pay for 2.

Plus its was INSANELY crowded. We just wanted to get the heck out of there. Did I mention a bag of cotton candy was $5? However, we did get to see some animals and watch this really cool dog show. And we found a vendor that only charge $3 for a bag of blue cotton candy that actually ended up all over my mini van seats because Hinckley barfed on the way home! OH JOY! Here are a few pictures!

Fireman Cooper

I completely forgot to get a picture of the finished product from build a bear so here it is!

I feel like I have a ton to blog about!

Man this past week has just flown by so quickly! Troy is back from Florida, YIPPEE! He started school today, YIPPEE! Hinckley has a new bed, YIPPPEE! So far I do not have pregnancy induced hypertension, YIPPEEE! WE are getting ready for baby C to come, YIPPEE!

I do have to blog something that I really am NOT suppose to blog about but I dont care because so many people have put it up on their blogs and facebook and its been in the news SO THERE. Troy got a phone call on Friday telling him they have been put on a new deployment list. Its a yellow light as you might say, the next one will be green with orders. It's just around the corner. My understanding is it could be within a year. Troy has drill this weekend so hopefully he will find out more information. To be honest I have my moments of peace and my moments of mental break down. I understand this comes with the territory, and I would be stupid to think this kind of thing would never happen but when you get that phone call everything changes. I am not sure if I will go spend time with the parents or just hand out here. I will probably do a mixture of both because it will be a LONG deployment of probably a year to 2 years. We will see! Its been very frustrating not being able to talk about it. At least I can talk about it with Troy.

Pregnant=ANNOYED

So tonight I have come to the conclusion that I am a very annoyed person. I let the small things bug the heck out of me. Okay, I really think it may just be a pregnancy thing but man people are driving me nuts!

Tonight we had enrichment and they said they were serving dinner and to come with an empty stomach. Well, they didn't serve "dinner" until 8pm! UMMM HELLO? Dont have people show up at 6:30 with an empty stomach (which they specifically told us to do) and not feed them for an hour and a half. ESPECIALLY PREGNANT WOMEN!!!!!!!! I couldn't even pay attention to anything that was said because I was so dang hungry. And should I even count how many pregnant women were there. I can think of 6 right now off the top of my head NOT including me.

So then after we finally ate all the kids were let loose and they were RUNNING AROUND LIKE CHICKEN WITH THEIR HEADS CUT OFF! UGH! Are you serious moms? You are just going to ignore the increase in volume?

Can i just say that drivers in Eastern Idaho SUCK! Everything from the lack of turn signal to the riding your bumper in the right hand lane when they can perfectly pass you on the left.

And I really really really HATE the policies of BYU-Idaho. Like you seriously have to have my husband IN person at the cashiers office to give you permission to allow his wife to do anything with his account, like say PAY FREAKIN TUITION. I even woke Hinckley up from his nap, put pants and shoes on because I was afraid they wouldn't allow me on campus with shorts and flip flops never mind the fact that its 95 degrees outside and I am 7 1/2 months pregnant! And to drive the 20 minutes north just to be told my husband has to do it. OH HECK NO!

Dont even get me started on anything else... Like waiting 20 minutes to drop off a 24 hours PEE sample at the hospital. When the lady is sitting right there and ALL I have to do is hand it over to her. I literally waited 20 minutes for this lady to take the dang gallon of pee off my hands. Speaking of this 24 hr pee sample thats a WHOLE OTHER POST.

Here's another one. So we decided to rent some movies from the library. We got them RIGHT BEFORE they closed. Brought them home and both of them were so scratched we couldn't watch but 30 minutes of them. So I returned them when today and explained that we were not able to watch them and they should be aware that other people will have the same problem. Then the woman proceeds to drill me on if i scratched the dang DVDs. Are you serious? I've had them in my possession for like 14 hours and out of those 14 hours we were asleep like 9 of them. Do you think if I scratched them to hell and back I would really be this honest with you?

Okay... I think I am done. I have a few more vents but I am feeling better already. I think I need a job at doing demolition or something to get my stress out!
