Thankful Sunday!

First and foremost I am SO THANKFUL it is RAINING and NOT snowing! LOL. I will take rain ANYDAY over snow. I am thankful I don't have strep throat like my husband and brother in law (who is living here!) I am thankful so far Hinckley, Grace and April dont have it either! I am thankful though community care in Rexburg is open on Sundays. I am thankful for a clean house even though I know in a matter of 2 hours it will be a disaster again. And you know I am really thankful I dont live in New Orleans!

Thankful Sunday

I have noticed a few friends of mine do this thankful Sunday thing and I thought I should start doing it. I really need to focus on the positive things because I am SO BLESSED!

*Today the question was asked in church, "what makes me grateful for my membership in the church?" And I thought about it and the first thing that came to mind was my eternal companion. I am truly thankful that my husband and I are sealed together for all eternity. It means a lot more to me now knowing that my husband will go to the BIG SAND BOX sometime in the near future.

*I am thankful for my sweet sweet Grandma Shumway. Today Troy, Hinckley, and I all went to visit her for about 3 hours. She is so hip and cracks me up! We watched the Olympics and talked. It was wonderful. I know someday I wont have her anymore and I am just so thankful for my heritage!

*I am thankful for my nice van and that it is still under warranty.

Baby Grace is here!

We have been very busy the past week! In fact so busy I think I have forgotten to breathe a bit. Our friends Evan & Diana left with all their stuff on Thursday. April & Bryant moved in Tuesday night and had baby Grace Thursday. She is seriously adorable! Grant it I am the aunt and I am bias. They just came home today from the hospital. Grace spent a day in the NICU because she was looked a little blue in the face. She is doing great though and very healthy! We are excited to have such a special spirit here in our home. I just hope we don't drive April and Bryant crazy!

Troy bought me this beautiful ring for our anniversary. Thank you clearance at Jensens Jewelers. Tuesday Troy said we were going somewhere special for our anniversary but I couldn't know where we were going. So we borrowed Aprils car and he started driving. Once we drove past Rexburg I knew we were headed to W. Yellowstone. We had such a wonderful time together. It was so nice to just hold hands and walk into the shops and browse with out worrying about a 2 year breaking anything! WE got some old fashioned pictures taken and ate some pizza. We also went and saw See How They Run. IT WAS SO FREAKIN FUNNY! We loved it. We ate popcorn and had fudge and ice-cream. We had a wonderful date. We just loved being together.

Wednesday was our actual anniversary and we really didn't do anything special. We had many other things to do. It is hard to believe we have only been married for 3 years when we look back on everything we have been through. We are thankful to have the relationship we do. We are pretty lucky to have each other!

Just call us a Bed & Breakfast

So I am starting to get really anxious about this week. Our good friends Evan & Diana are coming this week to pick up all their stuff they left here a year ago. They arrive here Monday afternoon and leave early Thursday morning. It will be fun to catch up with them. Tuesday April (Troy's older sister) and her husband are moving in for a couple of weeks. Which may not sound crazy but Wednesday afternoon April is getting induced to have her first baby! They are moving the 2nd week of September to Spokane, Washington so he can start Grad school in a PT program. And the contract on their apartment goes out the end of August. I am really excited to have a little baby in the house but I AM SUPER nervous too. I hope we can give them enough space and I hope we can get April recovered enough that she can move safely. I also hope we have some space too! (Maybe it will be good birth control! LOL) We had some people live with us back in April for 2 weeks and it was really really really hard having them here. Even though they lived downstairs it was still really hard.

I went to the doctor last Monday and was planning on having a D&C on Tuesday. However, I was pretty much done bleeding and so I thought it was a little crazy to have surgery when I didn't need it. They took my blood again and it was still a little over 100 and so I have to go back in on tomorrow and see what they say. I started cramping and bleeding a little today which is so frustrating. The whole whirlwind of the past couple of weeks have started to hit me. I feel a whole swarm of emotion from anger to resentment to fear to sadness. A really good friend of mine gave me a book this week called Jesus Wept. And I have really enjoyed reading it. I am just feeling a little empty.

On the upside I got to spend all week with my wonderful husband! It was been just amazing to catch up and reconnect. It feels like he never left! I also got to go and get a facial with a dear friend of mine LaNelle this week and she introduced me to sub zero ice-ream. YUM! I also got to spend all day yesterday shopping and stuff by myself and with my little sister in law Kristin. And Troy bought me a Anniversary present! (Our 3rd anniversary is this Wednesday!)

TROYS HOME!

Troy arrived back in Idaho at about 2:30 today. IT WAS WONDERFUL! He was suppose to come about 1 and so we had a surprise party waiting for him back at the house but when his flight was delayed we had to rearrange a few things. Hinckley and I drove around Idaho Falls because he REALLY needed a nap while my sweet sister in laws and brother in law entertained our company. I have video of when Troy first got off the plane and HInckley running to him. IT WAS GREAT! We had 2 balloons that had flown away in the wind and a sign that said we love daddy. As we drove up to the house there was a BIG sign that said, "Welcome HOME PFC CARTER". Troy thought that somebody had hit our garage but as we pulled up he was like OH thats a sign for me! It was cute. As we were walking up to the door he said, "why don't we go over to see Grandpa and Grandma" And I was like ahhhhh..... I need to go use the restroom first. So we walked in and sure enough we had some family and friends waiting to welcome him home. It was great! HE WAS TOTALLY SURPRISED!

Negative+Negative=positive?

This post may not interest you at all but considering I take it as my journal I must write about it.

I went and saw Troy the end of June for graduation (a total of about a day and half) and we had a wonderful time together. In fact I would go as far as saying that it was the on my top 3 days of my life. When I got back I started to feel pregnant. I was tired, I was winded at the gym, my chest was growing (sorry about the details), headaches... etc. etc. Well, I take a pregnancy test it was negative... 2 days later I take another one it was negative (mind you I had already missed my period by this time). So I thought okay well onward and upward. A few days later my period shows up and it turns out to be fairly normal, nothing out of the blue. A week goes by and I start to spot... and then it stops for a few days and shows up again and stops and shows up again. I just attributed it to stress and anxiety. Well, I get back to Idaho and about a week later I wake up and I am in enormous pain. (those of you who have given birth or who have experienced a miscarriage know what I am talking about). I started bleeding A LOT more and I was just miserable. This was a Saturday so I called the doctor and they said to come in right away but I didn't think that our insurance would cover it. So I waited until Monday to go it. (I got a phone call Saturday night and was asked to teach the lesson in RS the next day... A LITTLE CRAZY!)

I went in on Monday and talked with the NP and she said she had a feeling I was pregnant. And I very bluntly told her she was wrong because I had my period after seeing my husband. She insisted on a blood test and sure enough I tested a BIG FAT POSITIVE for the pregnancy hormone. I seriously couldn't believe it. How did 2 negatives turn out to be a positive? They checked my iron level and said I was a little below normal which okay they just needed to watch it. They also did an ultrasound and didn't find much there. So I went back Wednesday for them to take another blood test and the pregnancy level was going down (like that was a no brainer) and I expressed my desire to have a D&C. They told me they only do D&C on Tuesdays so I would have to wait until then. I was really frustrated because I just wanted to stop the pain and the bleeding. It was a very emotional week for me. I went from being really angry to being numb to being sad. Troy just got home today so I went through his basically on my own. THANK YOU SABRINA FOR THE FLOWERS!

Many people do not know what its like to have a miscarriage and it really is NOT pleasant at all. I think once you go through something like this you really tend to be a little more compassionate to other people when they go through something like this. It will be interesting to see what will happen in the next couple of months.

THANK YOU TO THOSE WHO HAVE EXPRESSED CONCERN AND LOVE!

Hinckleys Temple

So a couple of weeks ago my mom and I were eating breakfast on my moms lighthouse plates and Hinckley said, "OH TEMPLE!" I just about fell off my rocker. It was adorable. I guess I need to pay better attention to what I am teaching my kid!
