Dancing in the New Year

Troy and I are in charge of the music for our youth dances that are usually held once a month. Because our stake is so spread out (from the north to south its over 3 hours) they decided to have the new years eve dance a night before. They actually had a youth killed in a car accident after a dance like 5 or 6 years ago in our stake so they are very cautious about what time they let out the dance and stuff.

We had a great time with the kids and we had a chance to dance and embarrass ourselves.

Typical picture of Troy DJing
My brother and his 6 kids were in town for it and my parents came by the dance for while so Grandpa got to dance with one of his grand-daughters.

Us cutting up the dance floor! LOL!
Hinckley and his cousin played NONE STOP. They are a year apart but they get along so well. They played and played and played and played and played. Hinckley was heartbroken when his cousin left.... When we got home from the dance I got a snap shot of them holding hands as they were asleep.

Dancing in the moonlight

The 2nd week Troy was home a member of the Stake Presidency called us into his office. I really thought it would be a calling for Troy since he just got back. We sat down joked about it for a minute and then he asked us to BOTH be the dance couple. By the way for those who are not a member of my church in my church we volunteer or are called to do things in our church. For example you could be called to work in the nursery which is teaching the 18 month-3 year olds. You could be asked to work in scouts or other church assignments. I work with the young women ages 12-18 and Troy teaches Sunday School class for that age group which is both boys and girls.

Anyway, so this past Friday we had our first dance we were in charge of the music. It really went pretty well but the music has NO organization whatsoever so we have a road ahead of us to get it fixed. We are very excited for this new challenge and I took a few pictures to put up on a bulletin in our church so I thought I would share a few that didn't show any faces. I dont want some parent freaking out because I put their kids face on my blog.
