Hinckley POST
I have to tell you that I have the best 5 year old in the whole world! I LOVE THIS KID SO MUCH. He finished his chore chart right before daddy came home and got his first ever report card. HE got all stars in every category! WAY TO GO HINKS!
He came home a week ago with this new pencil... See it below
Hinckley has a new tip color on his belt! WAY TO GO HINKS!
This is square horse stance

I have video I will try to load on here too! PS Hinckley has 2 teeth coming in behind his bottom teeth a few of those bottom teeth are loose.
I really dont want him to loose his beautiful smile to missing teeth... Thats the joy of growing up I guess!

What do you do in the fall when all the leaves turn orange?
Yesterday on September 11th Mom and I decided to take a little road trip. We drove 30 miles out of town to take cookies to some members of our church. They kind of live in the middle of no where but it sure was a fun adventure! There are like no road signs and lots of different houses so it was a bit tricky but we accomplished our goal.
On our way back to the highway I saw this HUGE black thing crawling on the road. My first instinct was to run the thing over and then I realized what it was and that I have never seen one in the wild!
Want to know what it was?
Are you sure????
It's kind of creepy if you ask me......
YEP! A tarantula!
This was taken with my moms cell phone. And NO it doesn't have a zoom so yes I was THIS CLOSE! Hinks kept screaming MOM you are going to get KILLED! It was kind of funny...
We drove past the spider first and then Hinckley said he didn't get to see it. So we turned around and drove by it again. Then I realized I wanted a picture to document the fact I saw one in the wild. So we turned around again. I couldn't find my phone so we I used my moms cell camera. The photo gallery was full so I had to figure out how to erase some pictures so I could take some. I finally figured it out and I took 2 pictures... Jumped back in the car and I had a bit of the heeby jeebies. So we start driving away I look down at the photo gallery and see I forgot to hit SAVE! So we turned around AGAIN and this time I had to search a bit for this little guy. I found him. Took 2 pictures and YES I had nightmares last night about it. Hinckley asked me if he could have a TV in his room. Yes we are one of those weird families that does not have TV in our house. I think its a waste of time. When we moved into my parents house Hinckley called the TV shows movies and had no clue what a remote was. I like that. I don't want my kids addicted to TV.

Oh hello Hinckley Joe
The other day Hinckley came home and told me he was smoking at school. I WAS SHOCKED! Like sat him down and gave him a big hug and said, "Hinckley why were you smoking at school?" He then replied, "Mom, I WAS HOT!" *sigh of relief*
Tonight he had a melt down. Like a melt down he has never had before. We were driving home from our friends house and he asked me to put a song his daddy sings. So I put it on and by the time we made it home he was sobbing. (this is normal) So we get out of the van we hug and talk and call daddy. Then he got in the bath tub and before I knew it he was sobbing again... And this is what came out of his mouth,
"Daddy asked me to put a smile on my face everyday and help my mommy and be brave and I have and he said he would come home soon and he is NEVER coming home even though I did everything he asked me to do."
My heart sank. How do you explain to a 5 year old that his daddy is coming home soon but we don't know really how soon. And when he looks at me with tears in his eyes and pleads for his daddy to come home? AHHHH!!!!!!!!!!
Tonight I hate deployment. Tonight I hate war. Tonight I want nothing more than my husband home. Tonight all my boys needed was daddy.
Hinckley had his school pictures today. I decided I would let him pick out any shirt he wanted to wear for it. So of course it was a star wars shirt!

The other morning Hinckley told me he had a dream about GG. I was very taken back because we haven't talked about GG lately. We don't have a lot of pictures of GG around so it really sparked my interest. He told me that in the dream there were a lot of people there mostly family and that GG was really HAPPY. And she wanted to make sure that we were all HAPPY. Isn't that interesting? Hinckley was just over 2 when she passed away. GG had a special gift to make everybody in the family feel like #1 and I guess she is still doing it even though she is in heaven.
This was the first time GG met Hinckley. Hinks was about 8 months old
*****Do you have box tops at home on your boxes like this?*****

Am I ready?

Today I registered Hinks for his new school. I am SO THANKFUL he will not be going to RGE. I couldn't send him there I just couldn't. They gave me a paper with all this information about dress code (they wear uniforms), school supplies and such. I teared up a bit after not because I dreaded sending him to this school like I did the last time I registered him, but because I will miss him so much. This little boy is growing up to be such a fine young man. I am so proud to be his mommy. How will I ever get through all day with out him? AHH!!!!!!!!! I can not even imagine NOT having lunch with him. BAH! I am going to miss him but thank goodness we will have breakfast and dinner. I am going to snuggle him more, kiss him more, play with him more in the next month, YES he starts in a month then I have ever before!

An ode to a bike
We bought Hinckley a bike when he turned 3.... Almost 2 years ago. He really struggled at pedaling. I think it was because every time he pushed back on the pedals it would put on the brake.
A few of his friends here in NM have bikes so we put Hinks on one the other day to see how he would do. Well, he took off! He loved it and got it! So off to the flea market we went. We bought a bike for $20. Hinckley loved it. LOVED IT! He rode that bike night and day. He washed it like 4 times in the 4 days he had it. Well, tradegy struck when he took the bike down a HUGE hill by the house. Actually, we were truly blessed that it was the bike that broke not him!
So off to the flea market we went again and bought another bike this one I believe was $10 and we kind of mixed and matched the 2 together. He still loves riding it and treats it like his baby!
this was his original bike
